Erectile Dysfunction Treatment

A man’s ability to get and maintain an erection is critical for sexual pleasure. But ED can be a serious problem that leads to anxiety, stress and poor self-esteem.

Doctors treat erectile dysfunction with a variety of techniques that address both physical and mental health factors. Patients should discuss their treatment options with their partner before receiving therapy.

Medications

Erectile dysfunction (ED) is a serious sexual health issue that can affect men of all ages. It’s caused by a variety of factors, including hormones, the brain, emotions, muscles and blood vessels.

The good news is that a number of medications can be used as part of ED treatment. They can increase a man’s sexual desire, help him get an erection and prevent him from getting priapism (when an erection lasts longer than four hours).

Phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitors like sildenafil (Viagra), tadalafil (Cialis), and vardenafil (formerly sold under the brands Levitra and Staxyn) work by increasing the amount of blood in the penis. They are most effective when taken on an empty stomach about one hour before sex.

Some phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitors are also available as oral medications, which take effect quickly and are more effective than injectable drugs. There are also some newer phosphodiesterase inhibitors that are being developed that may last even longer, cause fewer side effects and work more quickly than currently used drugs.

Devices

Erectile dysfunction (ED) is a common condition that affects men of all races and social classes. It’s a treatable condition that can be treated with medication or surgery.

Medicines that relax muscle cells in the penis can mardana taqat ki medicine and thereby produce an erection. Doctors may also improve blood flow to the penis by repairing veins and arteries in the penis or redirecting blood vessels to the area.

Vacuum constriction devices or penis pumps are vacuum-like devices that draw blood into the penis to help you get an erection. They use an electric or hand-powered pump and a retaining band that slides down to keep blood in the shaft.

Another treatment for ED involves a device that delivers vasodilators to the corpora cavernosa by inserting a cannula into the penis. The cannula is connected to a scrotal reservoir that can be squeezed to deliver a dose of vasoactive drug into the penis.

Surgery

If medication doesn’t help, your doctor may recommend surgery to correct a blocked artery or other problem. This can be a difficult and costly operation that doesn’t always work.

When you go to the hospital, your surgeon or other medical professionals will take your vital signs, ask you about what you’ve eaten and drink the day before the surgery, and shave the area where the surgery is to be done. They’ll start an IV (an intravenous line) and give you medicines to help you sleep or numb the area so you don’t feel the surgery.

Your healthcare provider will also order tests to make sure you are healthy for the surgery and that any other conditions are under control. They will send the results and reports to your surgeon. It’s important that your doctor clearly explains the benefits, risks and possible side effects of the surgery.

Counseling

If you're having difficulty achieving or maintaining an erection, talk to your health care provider. They can diagnose the cause of your ED and recommend treatment options that might work for you.

Often, ED is an early sign of more serious problems such as heart disease or diabetes. A doctor will ask you about any other symptoms you might have or run tests for these underlying diseases.

A doctor can also use counseling to help you improve your erections or cope with other mental health issues that may be contributing to your ED. Counseling can be done individually or in a group.

Your doctor might also suggest a mardana kamzori ka ilaj urdu mein, such as nitrates or other medications, to enhance the effects of nitric oxide. These drugs relax the muscles in your penis and increase blood flow, allowing you to get an erection in response to sexual stimulation.
